Diabetes and cardiovascular disease
Deaths and morbidity from cardiovascular disease (CVD) are two to five times higher in patients with diabetes compared with the general population. And women with diabetes have a higher relative risk of death from cardiovascular disease than men, although the absolute risk is lower.
