Clinical Communities

Online networking via the Clinical Communities helps healthcare professionals link up with those with common interests and share resources. An Oyster-run Focus Group identified a need for networking, particularly among consultants.

The secure network helps users interact online, linking those who share interests and passions within and across therapy areas.

Each member creates a profile page, giving their name, affiliation, research activity, a bibliography of published work and forthcoming events they plan to attend. Clinical Communities' functions and tools include:

  • Shared resources library
  • Learning Zone
  • Oyster news alerts
  • External RSS news alerts
  • Events networker
  • Private messaging
  • Ask an expert

The Learning Zone

CPD modules or practical Toolkits offer a secure online learning resource to support clinicians in delivering best practice. This area can be clearly branded to the sponsor who provides educational funding.

E-learning toolkits are running in liver disease and inflammatory bowel disease.

Sponsorship and advertising opportunities

The Clinical Community extends the marketing "footprint" for advertisers by creating extended engagement with members.

Sponsors/advertisers help build a permanent community that can be added to year on year in an accessible and measurable way.

Two spaces for advertising banners and click through URLs allows a new route to income generation.

Our Clinical Communities hold HONCode Web 2 accreditation from the independent Health on the Net Foundation.

"The BloodClub Clinical Community is particularly useful for accessing meeting reports and abstract reviews and also for networking with other members via private messaging."
